Tom Stuart Construction Helps Welcome the Tilt-Up Industry to Utah at the 2026 TCA Convention

A legacy built on concrete, craftsmanship, and relationships.

For Tom Stuart Construction, tilt-up concrete construction isn't simply a building method. It's a significant part of our company's history, the work that helped shape our reputation, and an industry we've been proud to help advance for more than four decades.

That's what made this year's Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) Convention & Expo in Salt Lake City especially meaningful for our team.

Tom Stuart Construction was proud to participate as a Platinum Host Sponsor and attend the convention, joining construction professionals, industry leaders, engineers, architects, and suppliers from across the country. With the convention coming to our home state, it was an exciting opportunity to represent Utah's construction community, reconnect with industry partners, and welcome professionals who share our passion for building better.

But for TSC, this year's event represented something a little more personal.

A History Built on Tilt-Up

When Tom Stuart founded Tom Stuart Construction in 1983, he helped introduce concrete tilt-up construction to Utah. What began as an innovative approach to commercial construction would eventually become a cornerstone of our business and an important part of Utah's evolving commercial and industrial landscape.

Over the years, we've seen firsthand how tilt-up construction has transformed the way buildings are designed and delivered. Its efficiency, durability, and versatility have made it an ideal solution for everything from large-scale distribution centers and manufacturing facilities to offices, retail developments, and other commercial spaces.

We've grown alongside the industry, continually refining our processes, developing our people, and expanding our capabilities to meet the changing needs of our customers.

Today, tilt-up remains one of our core specialties. Through our in-house concrete division and self-performed construction capabilities, we bring experience and accountability to every stage of the building process. From site preparation and concrete placement to forming, pouring, and raising panels, our teams understand what it takes to bring these structures to life.

It's experience earned one project, one pour, and one panel at a time.

Bringing the Industry Together in Our Own Backyard

Having the TCA Convention in Salt Lake City made this year's gathering particularly special.

Utah has developed a strong reputation in the tilt-up construction industry, and that success is the result of more than individual companies or projects. It's built on decades of collaboration between contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, developers, and the skilled tradespeople who make these projects possible.

The convention provided an opportunity to celebrate that collective progress.

As a Platinum Host Sponsor, Tom Stuart Construction was proud to help support an event that brings the industry together to exchange ideas, explore new technologies, discuss evolving construction practices, and recognize the people pushing tilt-up construction forward.

We also appreciated the opportunity to connect with professionals from across the country, share experiences, and learn from others working to solve many of the same challenges we encounter every day.

An industry doesn't move forward when everyone works in isolation. It moves forward when people are willing to share knowledge, challenge conventional thinking, and learn from one another.

That's something we believe in at TSC, and it's one of the reasons events like this matter.

More Than Concrete and Buildings

At Tom Stuart Construction, we know that successful projects are about much more than the materials used or the buildings left behind.

They're about people.

For more than 40 years, our company has grown through the relationships we've built with our customers, trade partners, vendors, employees, and communities. Our success has always depended on the people who show up every day, bring their expertise to the jobsite, and take pride in doing things right.

Today, with more than 300 employees across our divisions, we're able to bring together a wide range of construction expertise under one roof. Our concrete, excavation, utilities, framing and drywall, and painting teams work together to deliver projects with the coordination, quality, and accountability our customers expect.

That depth of experience is especially valuable in tilt-up construction, where planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution all play critical roles in a project's success.

The TCA Convention was another reminder that while our industry continues to evolve through new technologies, materials, and construction methods, its greatest strength remains the people behind the work.

Looking Ahead

The construction industry is constantly changing, and we believe staying involved, staying curious, and continuing to learn are essential to remaining at the forefront.

From the early days of introducing tilt-up construction to Utah to the complex commercial and industrial projects we build today, Tom Stuart Construction has always been committed to finding better ways to build.

We're proud of how far the tilt-up industry has come, grateful for the relationships that have helped shape it, and excited about what the next generation of construction professionals will accomplish.

A special thank-you to the Tilt-Up Concrete Association for organizing this year's convention and bringing the industry to Salt Lake City. We're also grateful to the sponsors, exhibitors, attendees, and industry partners who made the event possible.

For more than 40 years, we've been building Utah. We're proud to help build the future of our industry, too.
